Nevada Northern Regional Behavioral Health Policy Board gains new chair Taylor Allison

The Nevada Northern Regional Behavioral Health Policy Board elected Taylor Allison, executive director of Partnership Douglas County, as their new chair on Feb. 26.

“Our board is comprised of 13 passionate individuals focusing on a common goal,” Allison said. “Together, we can move the needle and help improve the lives of patients and families in Northern Nevada.”

Victim Advocates: Nevada Supreme Court opinion reversal endangers domestic violence victims

On Sept. 12, 2019, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an opinion that requires jury trials as an option for offenders of domestic violence misdemeanors. At issue is a law passed by the 2015 Nevada Legislature that prohibits an individual convicted of domestic violence battery from possessing a gun.
