Carson City Art Gallery donating portion of December sales to FISH
Rich and Robin McGregor, owners of Carson City Art Gallery and Pottery in downtown Carson City, are continuing to ensure no food bowls are empty this holiday season by donating 10 percent of gallery sales to the Friends In Service Helping (FISH) food program, which feeds hungry residents in Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties.
"F.I.S.H. has done such a wonderful job helping people," Robin McGregor said. "They offer a hand up, not a hand out, making them my favorite charity."
The McGregors are organizers of the annual Empty Bowls Carson City Project, a year-round effort to collect pottery bowls for its big annual fundraiser in December. This year's project culminated on Dec. 2.
Carson City Art Gallery and Pottery features the work of 35 local artists in a wide range of mediums as well as ongoing pottery classes.
It's located at 110 S. Curry Street in the historic stage depot building across from the Third and Curry parking lot. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
