Man allegedly steals donuts and taquitos, runs, gets tased
At approximately 2 a.m. Friday, a Carson City Sherrif's deputy was dispatched to attend to a report of larceny, with the subjects - an 18-year-old Carson City man and a 25-year-old Carson City architecht - last seen heading east toward the north Wal-Mart on Market Street.
When the deputy arrived he sighted two men matching the description of the two larceny suspects sharing a large beer outside the west entrance of Wal-Mart. When the deputy stopped to ask the men what they were doing, the younger of the two attempted to escape.
The officer requested that he stop running and the suspect did not comply. He reached the retaining wall that blocks Wal-Mart from the Northridge subdevelopment and reached for the waistband of his pants, leading the officer to retrieve his taser and order him to stop running.
The suspect allegedly began climbing the wall, at which point the officer deployed his taser and ordered the subject into a prone position. The two men were handcuffed. At this point the clerk from Quik Stop arrived and stated that the two men had stolen two doughnuts and two taquitos.
The 18-year-old man was arrested for the misdemeanors of minor consumption of alcohol, petit larceny, and obstruction of justice. The 25-year-old was arrested for contributing to the delinquence of a minor, disorderly conduct, and petit larceny.
