Carson City arrests: Man arrested for allegedly stealing car from MAC
A 36-year-old transient man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly stole a vehicle from the Multi-Purpose Athletic Center (MAC) parking lot at 1860 Russell Way.
Ryan McGuire was arrested at Tuesday at 7:47 p.m. in the 2200 block of East Long Street for felony possession of a stolen vehicle, grand misdemeanor possession of stolen property and misdemeanor violation of bail conditions.
According to the arrest report, the victim explained that the suspect had been inside talking to staff and walking around when he allegedly found the victim's wife’s jacket which had keys to his late model Toyota Corolla in the pocket and ran out of the building.
The victim said he saw the man running out of the building and chased after him. McGuire fled the scene with the vehicle along with the suspect’s wife’s purse.
All units made an attempt to immediately locate the vehicle, and were unsuccessful. The victim managed to find the car himself at at 2200 E. Long st. and alerted dispatch.
Officers arrived to the parking lot, and made contact with the victim and the vehicle. Officers were unable to locate the stolen purse inside the vehicle, so they began to look around the area where they came upon a man lying in the brush at the front of the building. The man matched the description of the suspect along with having property on him that was later identified as belonging to the victims wife. McGuire had numerous money cards, the victim’s wife’s driver’s license, credit cards, insurance cards and the keys to the stolen vehicle, according to the arrest report.
The victim added to his statement that he identified McGuire as the man who he saw steal the vehicle. The victim's wife arrived and identified the recovered belongings as hers, and also made a positive identification that McGuire was the one who stole the vehicle. Total Bail: $25,500.

— A 63-year-old Reno man Was arrested Tuesday, 11:41 p.m. on a Carson City warrant for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence in front of the Carson City Courthouse where the man turned himself in. Total bail: $3,000.
—An 18-year-old Carson City woman turned herself into the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Tuesday, 12:27 p.m. on a misdemeanor Contempt warrant. Total bail: $500.00.
