Lunar eclipse viewing party Jan. 20 at Carson City's WNC observatory
Western Nevada College is hosting a viewing party for the Jan. 20 lunar eclipse at the Jack C. Davis Observatory in Carson City.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the penumbras eclipse will begin at 6:35 p.m.
Partial eclipse begins at 7:33 and will reach totality at 8:41.
Maximum eclipse begins at 9:12 and total eclipse will end at 9:43.
The eclipse will last through 10:50 and the penumbra shadow will leave at 11:48.
The Observatory staff will have telescopes available as well as educational fun facts about the moon and eclipses.
