Spectacular Moon and glimpse of Mars over Carson City
Carson Now Reader Diana Smith shared this celestial photo taken of last night's moon showing Mars on the left bottom corner.
Wednesday's full moon is also known as the cold moon, the Frost Moon and Winter Moon because of the "long, cold nights" that winter brings, according to NASA, citing the Maine Farmers' Almanac. Also noteworthy is that Mars makes its closest and brightest appearance of the year.
