Carson City crime log: Suspects jailed for warrants alleging child abuse, burglary
Three were arrested Friday in the area of College Parkway and Research Way on multiple charges, with one having a felony bench warrant for his arrest, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Joshua Harrison, 30, was arrested in the area of College Parkway and Research for the warrant out of Carson City Justice Court alleging burglary. He and the two other suspects, ages 33 and 26, also face charges of gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was in the city’s dispatch center and was watching live city surveillance where he spotted two males enter a convenience store and appeared to have stolen something from a rack inside. The pair left in a BMW eastbound on College Parkway.
Another deputy spotted the BMW, learned through dispatch the registration was suspended and made a traffic stop at College Parkway and Research.
The driver of the vehicle was a 26-year-old female. Harrison, the rear passenger was checked through dispatch who advised he had the confirmed burglary warrant. The owner of the vehicle gave deputies a consent for the K9 to do an exterior sniff of the vehicle. The dog gave a positive alert on the vehicle, the arrest report states.
Inside the woman’s purse a deputy found old and new needles and empty containers with methamphetamine residue. On the left rear passenger floorboard deputies located a black case with multiple pills identified as Alprazolam, a schedule 4 narcotic. The case was within reach of all three and not labeled in any way.
All three were arrested for suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
The female driver was also arrested for suspicion of driving on a revoked license and suspended registration. Her bail was $3,249. Bail for the 33-year-old man was $2,500. Bail for Harrison: $12,500.
In other arrests:
— A 45-year-old Carson City man and an inmate at Carson City Jail, Jesse Walden James, was booked Friday, 3:30 p.m. for a felony warrant alleging child abuse. The warrant was issued Nov. 30, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $25,000.
