Carson City emergency crews respond to crash with injuries on Highway 50 near Flint Road

UPDATE: A motorist injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 50 East near Flint Road was flown by Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. A second injured person was taken by ground ambulance. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

An injured dog was also transported via a sheriff's deputy to an animal control officer where the dog was taken to a vet for treatment. The condition of the dog is unknown at this time.

The crash has caused traffic delays on Highway 50 East. Motorists can expect delays. The cause is under investigation. We will update when more information becomes available.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies and the Nevada State Police responded Sunday afternoon to the area of Highway 50 East near Flint Road for a vehicle crash in which one person was reportedly ejected.

The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. in the eastbound lane. A Care Flight air ambulance was ordered and landed directly to the scene off of Flint Road.

A Carson City Fire Department battalion chief on scene reports one person on the ground with injuries requiring the air ambulance and one other person injured. A ground ambulance was ordered and the injured person is en route to Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Animal control has been called as one of the vehicles involved had a dog inside. The dog reportedly suffered possible internal injuries, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy on scene.

The crash is blocking traffic. Motorists can expect delays. We will update as more information becomes available.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a 61-year-old Carson City man who was killed in a pedestrian accident Friday morning near the intersection of Long and State streets.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Family Church in Carson City will host a simple prayer service for the victims of the shooting in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 9 a.m. The church is located at 1201 North Saliman Road.
We will also pray for all lives that have been altered by violence of any kind. All are welcome.

Residents of Reno’s Somersett neighborhood woke Monday to learn that a house in their community was owned by the Las Vegas shooting suspect.

UPDATE 9:16AM: At least 59 people died and at least 500 wounded in Sunday night's sniper shooting, said Las Vegas Metro Police Department Sheriff Joseph Lombardo. It is the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. Both vehicles associated with the now deceased shooter, Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, have been located as has the female person of interest, Paddock's companion Marilou Danley.
