David John and The Comstock Cowboys Bring 'Christmas in the Sierra' show To Piper’s Opera House
Enjoy a beautiful, traditional Christmas performance as David John and the Comstock Cowboys bring their annual “Christmas in the Sierra” show back to Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City.
David John’s smooth, baritone fills Piper’s like nowhere else, with the fabulous acoustics provided by the 1885 opera house.
With the excellent musicianship of the Comstock Cowboys backing him up, you will hear wonderful versions of classic Christmas songs, as well as David John’s own originals, including the title song, “Christmas in the Sierra,” “Christmas on the Trail,” “Down Bethlehem Way,” “When Winter Comes To Tahoe” and “A Rancher’s Christmas Prayer.”
In addition, this family-friendly event involves children – any children in the audience are invited up to the stage to sing standard carols with David John and the band!
David John and the Comstock Cowboys are dedicating their Dec. 3 show to their friend, Noelle Darwin, who passed away recently after a long illness.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m., and will be opened by the Virginia City Schools choir, comprised of students from Virginia City Middle School and Virginia City High School, performing even more of your holiday favorites.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. at Piper’s Opera House, 12 North B St. Virginia City. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Get your tickets online at
