TV show 'Women to Women with Carol Paz' finds a new home online
After three long years of producing Women to Women for television on Charter Network, Producer Jose Paz and his wife and show host Carol Paz decided to retire.
Or so she thought.
After a little time off and a much needed break, Carol is now back in a new and bold way. She has created a new website and she hosts magazine-style, in-depth personal interviews.
The website, WomentoWomenNV.com, is also joined by a Facebook page in which she keeps readers informed on issues, good health and about her husband, the "Paella King.”
The new website features 2 main areas of discussion and all viewers are welcome to respond. Carol carefully chooses Northern Nevada women that she sees are making a difference in their community.
She looks to see how they are giving hope and encouragement, women who come from many different cultures, faiths and backgrounds.
Carol herself is an entrepreneur, well traveled, speaks English, French and Farsi, and worked as a teacher in the Middle East during the late 1970's. It was a time of political upheaval, and the hostage taking and executions made it a very frightening time for her. Those experiences have given her a very personal understanding of foreign policies, people and education in Iraq and Iran.
“I do not think like an American,” she said. “My travel and life experience in the Middle East taught me these things that I treasure today. You see things were never wasted when I was living there."
She shared how amazed she was by her former mother-in-law, who measured out proportions of food perfect for each family member or guest so nothing was wasted.
"The house and all things in it were respected and cared for. When a car was bought it was for the long term. You never ate in the car, all things were preserved, respected and maintained for a lifetime of use,” she said.
While traveling abroad has its benefits, Carol loves exploring America as well.
“Really, it is not necessary to leave the United States for pleasure, we have everything here!" she said. "History, food, art and culture, diversity of race, religion, culture from every land is here. If you travel to Europe there are many different languages to contend with even though English is prominent. There is so much civil unrest. Here you travel with English being the main language and the money is the same everywhere. I love America and being an American, my time abroad taught me to be so grateful and so respectful and caring of all we have, we are so very blessed.”
When asked about her research for the show, she said “I am a presenter of facts rather than opinion.” But she also works into her writings careful questions for all to consider.
“I am very serious about my research and vetting of any given subject and person," she said. "I carefully consider all angles of information in my writing and interviewing. I want people to be well informed on currant affairs, America and abroad. On my website, I will touch on global, international, national, state and local issues. So much is going on all around us and we need to wake up and be aware."
Carol said having the website allows her more time and freedom with her guests, to dig deep and have open, meaningful discussions on many various topics.
"I love that there are no commercials with having a website, nothing to interrupt the flow of a really great interview," she said. "I am writing bimonthly for now and will increase with time. I also look forward to talking to people in my travels to see what they think about America.”
