Vandals tag Carson City wall with graffiti
Carson City Sheriff's Office personnel and Public Works Street Operations have been busy this Tuesday morning cleaning up after taggers hit streets signs and walls with gang-related graffiti.
Street Operations for Carson City reports cleaning up at least eight spots on College Parkway along the sound wall between Sherman and Nye. The tagging was documented and stripped with sandblasters, said Justin Tiearney, street supervisor.
The idea behind the sandblasting is so that the areas that were hit are not painted over but instead left to the natural state of the structures before they were tagged with graffiti, he said.
Neighborhood watch patrollers with the city have been taking pictures of the vandalism and making repairs when possible. The number of locations and how much damage was caused is unknown.
