NHP: Three killed in Mt. Rose Highway crash late Saturday

The Nevada Highway Patrol confirmed three fatalities that resulted from a vehicle crash Saturday night on Mt. Rose Highway at Thomas Creek.
The NHP Fatal Investigation Team is investigating the cause. NHP tells KOLO that two cars crashed, killing one of the drivers and injuring the other. Two people who stopped to help the victims were then hit and killed by a third car.
It happened near the intersection of Mt. Rose Highway and Thomas Creek Road.
The highway, which was closed after all lanes had been blocked, reopened at 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
