C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Graduates a New Group of Champions
CARSON CITY — On Oct. 16, 2018, the Capital City C.I.R.C.L.E.S. Initiative graduated its latest class of Champions. For many of the guests — Board members and Allies — who have attended these familiar rites of passage in the past, the scene invoked many fond memories and a genuine sense of pride in the graduates who persevered through 16 weeks of Getting Ahead classes involving hard work and a lot of self-reflection.
In the words of Nena Leonard, who delivered the commencement address, “C.I.R.C.L.E.S. embodies so many important, real-life, valuable concepts that promote well-being, stability and sustainability.” It is about “having the courage to connect with people we wouldn’t normally connect with, the courage to share our fears, strengths, thoughts and ideas and having confidence (not only) in ourselves and each other (but) confidence in a brighter future for ourselves and our families.” Well said Nena!
