The Nevada Show is currently on exhibit through Dec. 24. The gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday 12pm to 4pm. Located at 449 W. King Street, Carson City, (775-882-6411). This year’s show is outstanding with artwork from 58 artists and all of the artwork is for sale. Come in with your family to experience our biggest show of the year. The Nevada Artist Association was founded in 1950 and opened its current gallery location in 1979 on the campus of the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

Ever since, the annual Nevada Day Show has featured member and non-member artists from Northern Nevada and California with entries in oils, water colors, pastels, acrylics, dry media, mixed media, photography, digital art, and 3D art.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Special Enforcement units took 30-year-old Aaron Friesen, (9/13/93) into custody at approximately 2:35 p.m. at a downtown North Curry Street residential Inn. Friesen had been identified as one of two suspects who attempted a forceful kidnapping on February 8, 2024 at the 1300 block of Fleetwood Avenue in Carson City.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is reporting Police Activity in the North Curry Street area.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is serving a warrant in the area  of North Curry Street and West Robinson St. The public is asked to avoid the area.

Carson High School hosted a Miracle Minute fundraiser this morning for all those wishing to donate to support the Rodriguez family.

The fundraiser was held during the school’s A3 class period where students, teachers and employees were able to make donations for 1 minute, pooling their money into an envelope in their classrooms.

It’s time again for Chinese Lunar New Year Celebrations in Carson City.

Each year, the Nevada State Museum and Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada partner together to bring Chinese culture to the capital city.

There will be a "Shining a light" candlelight memorial vigil Friday for Ella Márquez Conchas, 10, who died Jan. 23 in a pedestrian accident on US-50 in Mound House.

All are welcome to attend as a show of support for Ella Márquez Conchas and family. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. at on Friday at Dayton Elementary, 285 Old Dayton Road.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying suspects involved in several commercial burglaries in northern Nevada.

On Tuesday, the Douglas County School Board voted to offer the position of superintendent to John Ramirez, Jr. despite public outcry and the revelation of his extensive criminal and mismanagement history.

Investigations against Ramirez include mismanagement of district funds, sexual harassment, DUI, and hit and run, among others.

A formal ribbon cutting for the new Battle Born Counseling Center was held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024 to provide a safe and comforting space for those needing assistance in reducing their substance abuse disorders.

A 29-year-old Yerington woman driving a stolen vehicle was arrested Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit with law enforcement that spanned several miles through paved and dirt roads, according to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.

Melissa Reddick was at work when she received a call from her son’s school.

“Your son isn’t in trouble,” Reddick said the principal told her. "But he’s here in my office because his teacher hit him.”
