Carson City emergency crews respond to crash on Highway 50 and Airport Road
UPDATE: From NHP Trooper Duncan Dauber: We got the call at 7:23pm. Crash blocking the intersection of Highway 50 and Airport Road. it involved two vehicles, a blue Ford Ranger and a red GMC pickup. The two drivers were fighting when the call came into us. The driver of the red GMC was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence and freely and voluntarily submitted to a blood draw. The intersection was blocked while the crash was being investigated and vehicles were moved out of the way.

UPDATE: The eastbound lane of Highway 50 at the intersection of Airport Road was reopened at 8:30 p.m., according to dispatch. The crash is being investigated by the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's office and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called Sunday night to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 50 and Airport Road. At least two vehicles are involved. The wreck was reported to dispatch at 7:23 p.m.
Traffic is slow going, with one westbound lane open, according officers on the scene. No word yet on injuries. Avoid the area and find an alternative route.
Arriving firefighters via dispatch noted the drivers were out of their vehicles.
