Carson City crime log: Deputies make arrests for domestic battery, disorderly conduct
A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday in the area of Fifth and Allouette Way for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area for a report of domestic battery.
Deputies met with the suspect who’s stated he and his girlfriend had gotten into a physical altercation near the intersection of Fifth and Carson Street. He stated he was attempting to get his girlfriend home because she had been drinking too much. He stated he pushed the woman to the ground and that she kicked him in the lip causing it to bleed.
Deputies spoke with a reporting witness who stated he was driving southbound on Carson Street near Fifth Street when he observed the two arguing in the middle of the road, causing the witness to have to stop in the road. The witness said he observed the man throw the woman to the ground and the woman attempt to kick the man in an attempt to get away. The women then got up from the ground and got inside the vehicle of the witness and asked for him for help.
Deputies spoke with the victim who stated she and her boyfriend got into an argument, that the suspect pushed her to the ground and she kicked him to get away and then ran away from the suspect for help. The 19-year-old man was arrested at 12:19 a.m. for suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.
— A 50-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Tuesday morning in the 1900 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of criminal contempt. According to the arrest report the woman had been drinking and had been ordered by the Department of Alternative Sentencing to avoid contact with her boyfriend as part of her conditions. Bail: $500.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man, Peter Reinschmidt, was arrested Monday, 9 a.m. in the 1400 block of Medical Parkway for a felony failure to appear warrant issued out of Reno Justice Court. He was being held without bail awaiting extradition to Washoe County.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:01 p.m. in the 1900 block of block of East William Street for a misdemeanor suspicion of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area of East William Street and North Saliman Road for a report of a man walking on the road with a knife.
Deputies arrived on scene in front of a fast food restaurant in the 1900 block of East William Street. Officers recognized the man, having many contacts with him over the years. Deputies on scene gave him verbal commands to drop the knife and get on the ground.
After 5 to 8 verbal commands, the man dropped the knife and got to the ground. A glass methamphetamine pipe was found on his person. He provided a preliminary breath test of .265. Bail: $1,379.
— A 55-year-old transient was arrested Monday, 10:39 p.m. in the area of John and Fall streets for misdemeanor suspicion of drunken pedestrian on a roadway. According to the arrest report, the man was seen walking on the roadway, although a sidewalk was provided. The man was unsteady on his feet, stumbling and was balancing himself to avoid falling down.
He smelled of alcohol, stated he was homeless and walking to his camp but did not know where it was. He stated he had been drinking vodka and drinks every day. He provided a preliminary breath test of .357. He was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation due to the high concentration of alcohol and then to jail. Bail: $72.
— Two Carson City jail inmates, ages 21 and 27, were booked Monday on misdemeanor charges of damage to jail property following a search to locate the source of a marijuana odor. During a shakedown of the cell the two men shared both numerous amounts of contraband were found and both light fixtures were fully damaged, the arrest report states. Bail: $2,500 each.
