Carson City Sheriff's Office SWAT achieves victory in 2024 national competition
The Carson City SWAT team proudly represented their city at the 2024 Prairie Fire National SWAT Competition, competing against 35 other elite teams from across the country. The team placed 26th overall, demonstrating its skill, teamwork and commitment to excellence.
Carson City SWAT achieved a remarkable victory in the highly competitive Bonus Sniper Event, seizing first place and outperforming their nearest competitor, Riverside County Sheriff, by over 70 seconds. The sniper event, a true test of precision and speed, challenged competitors to shoot under time constraints at targets ranging from six to two inches at distances of up to 400 yards.
Carson City SWAT was joined by other local Nevada teams, including the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. These teams showcased the strength and capability of Northern Nevada’s tactical units.
The Prairie Fire National SWAT Competition, a platform for rigorous physical and mental endurance tests, technical skills, and tactical decision-making, was a perfect stage for Carson City SWAT to demonstrate their commitment to staying at the forefront of law enforcement tactics and abilities.
