New Carson City Library director aims to start conversation about library's direction
Carson City Library’s new director Tod Colegrove visits with residents and local officials during a meet and greet event at the library, on Friday, Oct. 11. Colegrove, who started Oct. 2, said Carson City is leading the way as libraries across the country are “figuring out what it means to be a library in the 21st century. They’re having a real impact on learning and discovery. I want to learn what Carson City wants done. The direction of the library needs to be a conversation.”
Prior to becoming Carson City Library Director, Colegrove was the Nevada State Librarian. Tammy Westergard, assistant administrator of the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records, has replaced Colegrove as director.
Colegrove replaces Sena Loyd, who resigned the post in February to take a job in the private sector.
