Carson City TRIAD, Carson Tahoe Health to discuss fall risk and prevention Friday
Carson City Nevada TRIAD presents “Tripping Into Fall,” a fall risk and prevention workshop sponsored by Carson Tahoe Health at the Carson City Senior Center Friday, Oct. 13, at 11:45 a.m.
Steven Yasmer, manager of therapy services for CTH, will lead the discussion how to recognize fall hazards and how to prevent falling for seniors.
“Falling is dangerous to seniors and many falls are preventable,” Courtney Warner, executive director for the Senior Center, said. “Every 11 seconds in the U.S. an older adult is seen at an emergency room for a fall-related injury. We are pleased to have Steven present this important safety information, not just for seniors, but for everyone.”
Warner said the presentation is free of charge and open to the public. Raffle tickets for a drawing for a gift basket provided by Eden Health Services will be handed out at the door.
Carson City Triad provides health and safety related information monthly at the Senior Center. Triad is a collaboration between the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, Fire Department and Senior Center.
For more information, email Courtney Warner, executive director of the Carson City Senior Center, at CWarner@carson.org, or call the Center at (775) 883-0703. The Carson City Senior Center is located at 911 Beverly Drive in Carson City.
