Fire at Cherry Creek Apartments on South Carson Street
UPDATE: Firefighters responded this afternoon to a fire at the Cherry Creek Apartments, in the 3300 block of South Carson Street in Carson City. One person was treated for an injury and released.
Flames and smoke came from the second level of an apartment building and spread elsewhere, including the attic. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. Residents of the apartment were evacuated and one person was treated for an injury to their foot and released, said Carson City Assistant Fire Chief Tom Tarulli.
The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m.
Tarulli said the fire caused heavy damage to one apartment and two other units had slight damage. He added that he had not heard about pets being lost in the fire.
