Carson City area road report for week of Oct. 11-17

On Thursday March 3rd, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) School Resource Officer began an investigation at a local Middle School after a 12-year-old student came to the office claiming she felt very strange.

UPDATE 11:21 a.m.: According to Carson City Dispatch the driver of the bulldozer is being reported as deceased.

OSHA is being contacted as the victim was on a job site at the time of the accident.

Just after 11 a.m. on Friday, Care Flight was ordered to respond to an accident off Brunswick Canyon near Deer Run Road.

UPDATE Friday 9:45 a.m.: Echo Summit is still closed, and crews are working diligently to drill and blast the massive boulder that slid onto the road Thursday evening.

Teams have been working through the night, according to Caltrans District 3.

Both lanes of US-50 over Echo Summit are closed Thursday night after a massive section of rock fell onto the roadway.
