Carson City arrests: Man sought in alleged motorcycle gang shooting in custody
A 34-year-old Carson City man wanted by Yuba County, Calif., authorities for suspicion of attempted murder, was taken into custody Wednesday, a Carson City deputy said.
Francisco Xavier Fernandez, a validated Yuba City motorcycle gang member who lives in Carson City and Yuba City, was arrested during a high risk traffic stop at around 8 p.m in the 4600 block of Highway 50 East.
He had an active warrant, issued out of California Super Court for attempted murder. He’s being held on $500,000 bail.
Last month, Carson City Sheriff’s investigators and California authorities were involved in serving interstate property search warrants in Yuba City and Carson City.
They served two property searches in Carson City on Sept. 25 related to the alleged gang-related shooting in Yuba City that injured one. Property search warrants were issued at a Tanglewood Village Apartment House address on Roop Street, and also at Nautical Customs, a motorcycle shop located on Highway 50 East.
Wednesday's arrest is not related to the Sept. 24 fatal shooting on Interstate 80 near Truckee, which is believed to be motorcycle gang related.
