Carson City emergency crews respond to vehicle crash at Highway 50 East and Drako Way
Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Sunday to a single vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 50 East and Drako Way.
The crash, reported at around midnight, involves a pickup that hit a retaining wall near Dump Hill head-on in the eastbound lane, according to first responders on scene. One person required extrication from the vehicle.
Eastbound Highway 50 was closed temporarily due to the crash. Care Flight landed near the highway and flew one person to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. The second injured person declined to be taken to the hospital, according to responders on scene.
NHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
