Carson City arrests: Deputies make marijuana related DUI arrest
A 25 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 12:19 a.m. in the area of East Fifth Street and North Saliman Road for misdemeanor first-offense driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was made on a gold sedan traveling 10 miles per hour (mph) over the posted speed limit, crossing the fog and center lines of the travel lane.
Multiple subjects occupied the vehicle, the report said, all of whom appeared very intoxicated by observation.
The driver, specifically, displayed red, watery eyes and exhibited an odor of burnt marijuana, the report said.
He admitted to having consumed a shot of whiskey before smoking a bowl of marijuana.
The driver consented to field sobriety testing (FST), which demonstrated multiple signs of impairment, including walk and turn, horizontal gaze, Romberg, and one-leg stand.
A preliminary breath test (PBT) was also performed, resulting in breath-alcohol content (BAC) of .019 percent.
Based on officer observations and results of the FST, the man was handcuffed, taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,381.
