Nevada State Parks will be 'fee-free' this Saturday in honor of Nevada Public Lands Day
Nevada residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Nevada Public Lands Day this Saturday, Sept. 23 with a “fee-free” day at Nevada’s State Parks. Park fees, including entrance, camping (Saturday night) and boating, where applicable, will be waived at state parks throughout Nevada.

Catmandu is happy to announce an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, September 23rd from Noon until 4 p.m. to celebrate the re-opening of the facility and show off all the improvements made over the past 3 months. The public is invited to stop by, have a cookie, and see the new and improved Catmandu.
National Public Lands Day Trash Clean-Up at Sand Canyon in Carson City Sept. 23
Over the past three years we have hosted large effort clean-ups in the Sand Canyon area to address the active ongoing dumping that occurs in the canyon area. This area sees large amounts of trash year after year. We are partnering with Muscle Powered, the Desert Pigs (Carson and Dayton chapter) this year as part of their Trash Mob to tackle Sand Canyon once again!
Carson City's Greenhouse Garden Center to hold 'Art in Our Garden' celebration
Greenhouse Garden Center in Carson City will hold its annual Art in Our Garden later this month, with festivities on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn Dayton’s best kept historical secrets at the Dayton Museum
Do you want to know the historic town of Dayton’s best kept secrets? Dayton Museum opened for the season on March 4 at the town’s 1865 schoolhouse at 135 Shady Lane. The museum promotes the discovery of the culture, the tools used by the pioneers, their lifestyles and names of many who settled in Dayton 174 years ago. Ask about the Genealogy research and names saved on our computers. The museum contains displays of Nevada’s earliest history.
The Eldorado Forest Interpretative Association offers free guided interpretative hikes in and around the Carson Pass area throughout August and September. These hikes vary from 45 minutes long like our historical Devil's Ladder hike to three hours long like our water color painting hikes.
All Things Watercolor through Oct. 19
Ronnie Rector’s cheerful compositions tell a story and demonstrate her love of painting. Rector’s show, "All Things Watercolor", will be in the Community Center’s Crowell Board Room, from July 10 through October 19, 2023.

In his Nevada Neighbors talk, artist Michael Plyler gives viewers a close-up look into his decades of photographing the Highland people of Guatemala, making sixteen trips there between 1982 and 2018 that totaled almost two years in the country.
