Carson Chamber Singers and Symphony Chorus begin rehearsals for 2015-16 season
The Carson Chamber Singers and Carson City Symphony Chorus, conducted by Michael Langham, are beginning their 2015-16 season. The first rehearsal is Tuesday, September 22, at 7:00 p.m., at the Carson High School Choral Room, 1111 N. Saliman Road in Carson City. Each group will perform in several concerts this season.
Carson Chamber Singers was founded in 1985 as the select choral group of the Carson City Symphony. They have performed throughout northern Nevada and in the Tahoe area and as far as Sacramento, Calif. They have sung with the Carson City Symphony and the Reno Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra. For their 31st season, the Carson Chamber Singers are planning an adventurous assortment of concerts and locations. The group has openings to be filled by audition.
The Carson City Symphony Chorus was formed in 2012 to provide additional opportunities for amateur and volunteer professional vocalists, including high school and church choir members from throughout the area, to sing choral masterpieces with orchestra. The Chorus performs with the Carson City Symphony in December and June in Carson City, and on July 4th in Genoa. The Chorus is open to all singers, high-school age through adults.
Choristers who are interested in auditioning for the Carson Chamber Singers or joining the Carson City Symphony Chorus should contact Director Michael Langham at ccsingersdirector@gmail.com or call the Symphony at 775-883-4154.
