It's Your City: Sixth annual Edible Pedal from Carson City to Reno happens Sunday
This week's It's Your City with host Cortney Bloomer features Eric Sell, sponsorship director for Edible Pedal. The sixth annual event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18 with bicycle rides and food tasting that runs between Carson City and Reno.
There are 10 mile rides, 50 miles and 150K (92 miles) rides. The idea is for people to get out and enjoy the day with bicycle riding and food stops along the way.
Ride start/end address begins at Bowers Mansion, 4005 Old Highway 395 North. Registration is online and the morning of the event. Rolling starting times begin at 6:30 a.m.
Course description:
— Leisurely 10-mile route through picturesque Washoe Valley- great for families and cyclists seeking a taste of an organized ride.
— Respectable 50-mile loop includes a trek along bucolic country drives through Carson City and Genoa, some climbing.
— Challenging 150K ride featuring a lung-searing, thigh-burning, climb up Kingsbury Grade from Carson Valley to Lake Tahoe.
