Scarecrow Festival wraps up final day at Carson Mall with dozens of families participating
With late summer here and school in session, dozens of families spent Saturday afternoon at Carson Mall celebrating the coming fall with scarecrow building, pumpkin decorating and face painting — all for a good cause.
The annual Carson Mall Scarecrow Festival brought out nearly 400 people as of 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the final day of the festival, which began Thursday. Thus far, somewhere around $400 has been raised for Special Olympics of Nevada. The Festival continues until 5 p.m. Saturday.
"It's been a wonderful turnout," said event coordinator Colleen Hillman, owner of Bridger Mountain Boutique in the Carson Mall. "We planned for maybe a hundred and we've probably seen close to 400 people."
