Heading into the weekend, there’s a bevy of activities over the next three days. The Carson City Wine Walk returns Saturday with COVID-19 restrictions. Virginia City will be filled with spooky events over the month of October with its signature Hauntober event. Combined with live music and karaoke, the Carson City area will be buzzing with excitement! Read on for more information.

Come get your scarecrow on at the Fall Scarecrow Festival, going on now until 6 p.m. Saturday inside the Carson Mall.

The thunderous roar of jet engines will rumble across the skies above Carson City and the Carson Valley this weekend as the famed U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight team headlines the 2018 Aviation Roundup at the Minden-Tahoe Airport.

Come on down to the Carson Mall Scare Crow Festival, spanning two Saturdays, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20, from 12-3 p.m. and 3-6 p.m. Scarecrows cost $20 per day and pumpkins are $15 each day to decorate.

Make your own scarecrow. We have enough supplies to make over 150 hand-made scarecrows and 100 pumpkins, too.

Finally, Nevada Day weekend is here. State offices are closed, the kids are off school, and Carson City is hoppin’. Join the Downtown Business Association for the ‘Passport to Downtown’ with live music, a raffle, craft and vendor show, and a family fun center, complete with petting zoo. Stick around for the annual fall Blinky Man Costumed Nighttime Bike Ride Pub Crawl with Lights. Halloween festivities, a carnival in Mills Park, and opening night of the La Ka Lel Be Pow Wow are on today’s list, as well.

Some weekends are pretty cut and dry, just a few things to choose among. This, however, is not one of those weekends. Carson City residents got their shred on Saturday during a recycle event and barbecue to benefit Special Olympics of Nevada, raising $1,360 during the event.

With late summer here and school in session, dozens of families spent Saturday afternoon at Carson Mall celebrating the coming fall with scarecrow building, pumpkin decorating and face painting — all for a good cause.

Rockabilly takes the stage at Sassafras when the Scoundrels from Vegas get started around 8:30 p.m. Meet Michael Malley at the artist reception celebrating his exhibit 'Silver State Swimmer' in the Community Center Sierra Room.

Camels and Hot Air Balloons are right around the corner, but first enjoy Thursday in Carson City. Some live music with In Stride at Comma Coffee is a relaxing way to spend a lunch hour. Hick’ry Switch makes dinner on the veranda at Adele’s even more enjoyable. Let Tom Miller entertain you at Living the Good Life. UPDATE: The Light after Dark Walk/Run scheduled at Riverview Park in Carson City tonight has been canceled due to the dangerous conditions of the track from the bad weather.
