Gold Hill Hotel to reboot popular Thursday night dinner and lecture series
Back by popular demand, the Gold Hill Hotel offers a revitalized dinner and lecture series. Held each Thursday evening starting Sept. 17, the Gold Hill Lecture Series provides a glimpse into the history of Gold Hill and the Comstock. Kicking off the series is Virginia City’s own John Tyson.
Tyson boasts extensive knowledge of the state of Nevada through his years as a journalist and working cowboy. Involved with the restoration of the V&T Railroad, Tyson is locomotive engineer with the Nevada Northern Railway in Ely, Nevada. His lecture focuses on the American Cowboy, cowboy music and poetry.
Dinner starts at 6 p.m. at the Crown Point Restaurant at the Gold Hill Hotel with several menu options offered. The lecture begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room with two 45-minute segments with a 15-minute intermission. The cost is $25 for the dinner and lecture and $10 for the lecture only. Advance reservations are required by contacting the Gold Hill Hotel at 775-847-0111.
To be considered as a lecturer, call Karen Woodmansee at 775-345-5803.
