Carson City Humane Society's Pet of the Week: Slade
Happy Wednesday Carson City! Say hello to Slade, our featured pet of the week. Slade is a very handsome 4 and a half year old cattle dog mix, and he is looking for his forever home with someone who understands his breed.
Slade was returned to the Nevada Humane Society in Carson City on August 24, 2020 for not getting along with the new puppy in the home. Slade has had a rough go around and needs a dedicated owner(s) that knows his breed and understands that he likes to herd.
Slade needs to be exercised physically and mentally kept busy. Slade is a lover, and a protector. Slade will need to go to an adult only home, due to his instinctual herding behavior.
Once Slade gets to know you, he is a huge love! He is loyal to his people and needs that loyalty to be returned. Slade would love an active owner(s) that would get him out hiking or possibly even on small runs. This boy deserves a stable home, please fill out an application online today.
Let's hear from Slade himself!
"I am a sweet loyal lad once I learn to trust you. I devote my time being the companion you are looking for. The only thing in return I ask for is that you show me the right way, encourage my successes and show me a better way when I do wrong. I am active, but also know when to just chill at home. I do well with adult dogs, but puppies just are a little too hyper for me. I need an owner that understands my instinctual behavior of herding. Please give me a chance and I will repay you with love and devotion. I am ready to find my forever home!"
