Fundraiser Thursday for Carson City children involved in fatal crash
Living the Good Life will host a fundraiser Thursday night featuring live music, food and fun, to raise money for the Francone-Smithwick family, who were involved in a fatal accident late July.
On July 29, 2018 the Smithwick and Francone family were involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident on the start of their family vacation.
Gabbi Smithwick age 17 succumbed to her injuries on July 29th and passed away in the hospital.
Jonathon Francone, age 16 will have to undergo more surgeries. He suffered from traumatic brain injury, spleen removed, and has several broken ribs.
Kaitlyn Francone, age 11 who has muscular dystrophy, had broken jaw in two different places and had to have surgery.
She will have to return to Portland for follow-up appointments.
Brian Smithwick had to have his spleen removed and also suffered multiple broken ribs.
Kristyn Smithwick had the lease amount of injuries, but she must remain with Jonathan in Portland.
From 5pm to 9pm at Living the Good Life located at 1480 N. Carson Street, 20% of the proceeds made will be donated to the family to help with medical expenses.
In addition, local musician Greg Austin will be performing live music.
