Pursuit that started on U.S. 50 near Cave Rock ends in south Douglas with crash, 1 in custody

A vehicle pursuit that began on Highway 50 near Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe ended Sunday night with a crash in south Douglas County with one person in custody.
Law enforcement from Douglas County, Carson City and the Nevada Highway Patrol were involved in the vehicle pursuit that began before 11 p.m. on Highway 50 near Cave Rock. The pursuit ended at around 11:20 p.m. in the 1400 block of Highway 395 where it ran into a building. According to dispatch at least one person was in custody.
The vehicle, reported as a motorhome, was traveling Highway 50 eastbound without lights and would not stop. The vehicle went through two sets of spike strips put on the road by DCSO near the junction of Highway 50 and 395 in Carson City, but continued on, going through stoplights at Clear Creek and Topsy Lane, with speeds of 70 to 75 mph.
It was reported that some of the sparks that flew from the motorhome caused a small brush fire. East Fork Fire Protection District units were called to investigate to one spot fire and there was a large amount of rubber tire debris along the roadway.
