Carson City Jazz & Beyond presents Urban Renewal Project tonight at BAC Performance Hall
The Jazz and Beyond Music Festival continues tonight, Wednesday, with the Urban Renewal Project performing a free indoor concert from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 449 W. King St., Carson City.
The Urban Renewal Project is a collective known for its genre-bending original music that combines elements of jazz, hip hop, and vintage soul, and for its explosive live performances that have captivated audiences from SXSW to the Java Jazz Festival.
Following a successful tour with Camp Lo to celebrate their collaboration on the track Don't Ask Y and the subsequent placement of their single Shake Those Hips on Netflix's The Circle, the group has been preparing their next full-length release.
Band members are Alex Nester, vocals; Elmer Demond, vocals; Slim da Reazon, vocals; R.W. Enoch, tenor saxophone; David Wise, alto saxophone; Ian Holmquist, trumpet; Austin Drake, trumpet; Evan Mackey, trombone; Robert Todd, bass trombone; Tim Friedlander, guitar; Dustin Morgan, bass; and Devin Pruden, drums.
They have performed in Carson City in previous Jazz & Beyond concerts, and as a Levitt concert headliner. For more info about the band, go here.
