Carson City road report for Aug. 27 to Sept. 2
Here is the road report for the Carson CIty area slated for August 27 through September 2.
There will be traffic control on North Roop Street from Northridge Drive to Winnie Lane due to the construction of bicycle and pedestrian improvements.
The Carson City Regional Transportation Commission recently awarded a contract which will connect existing bicycle and pedestrian facilities in Carson City. Roop Street between Winnie Lane and Northridge Drive currently does not have a sidewalk or bike lanes, and people often try to use a narrow strip of concrete against a wall to travel this section of road. After the project is completed this fall, there will be bike lanes on both sides of the road and sidewalk connections to existing sidewalks on North Roop Street and Northridge Drive. Minor delays in the construction area are possible.
There will be a lane closure in each direction on Carson Street between Musser Street and Seventh Street, due to pavement maintenance.
Crack filling will occur on Goni Road between College Parkway and Arrowhead Drive. Traffic control will be in effect and minor delays are possible.
There will be nightly lane closures on US 395 from the junction of US\50W (Spooner) to 1st Street in Minden, Sunday through Thursday, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. There will be flagger controlled traffic.
There will be work at the following locations as a result of the Freeway Landscaping Project. Traffic control may be in effect.
â North Carson Street, in the vicinity of the freeway overpass and
on the northbound on ramp to the freeway.
â US Highway 50 in the vicinity of the Freeway.
â College Parkway in the vicinity of the Freeway.
