Carson City investigators seek identity of thief who broke into vehicle, stole credit cards
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a vehicle burglary at a fitness center in which a credit card was stolen and used at Walmart.
The incident happened on Thursday, August 16 when the suspect allegedly broke into a vehicle at a fitness center in the 2600 block of North Carson Street. The victim returned to her vehicle to find a passenger window had been broken out and the victim’s purse and other belongings were stolen.
The suspect left in a dark colored Jeep Cherokee with a dealership placard.
The suspect, a black male adult wearing a red sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, used the victim’s credit card at around 5 p.m. at Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street.
The Carson City Sheriff's Office reminds residents and visitors to not leave valuables such as purses, wallets, credit cards and firearms in their vehicles while parked in parking lots and at stores.
Thieves targeting vehicles parked at gyms is very common in Carson City and Northern Nevada.
