An independent diving team informed Nevada County and Placer County, Calif., law enforcement Sunday afternoon that it has located a vehicle submerged at Prosser Creek Reservoir and said 16-year-old Kiely Rodni, who has been missing since August 6, was inside the vehicle.
Placer County and Nevada County sheriff's offices have not confirmed the information.
Adventures with Purpose, an underwater sonar search and recovery dive team that helps families locating loved ones underwater, reported at 2:29 p.m. that they had found Kiely inside a vehicle upside down in 14 feet of water.
A Placer County Sheriff's Office public information officer confirmed it had received the information from Adventures with Purpose and has sent investigators to the scene.
Nevada County Sheriff's Office posted the following on social media:
"We are aware of this information and have additional staff enroute to meet with Adventures With Purpose. We will provide additional information when it becomes available."
Kiely was reported missing on August 6 after she attended a party with 200-300 juveniles and young adults at the Prosser Family Campground.
Law enforcement has said the last known trace from Kiely's cell phone was made the same night around 12:30 a.m. near the lake.
We will update as more information becomes available.
