Carson City deputies diffuse tense overnight situation at Mayflower Way residence
Carson City sheriff’s deputies were called to a Mayflower Way home late Thursday after a domestic disturbance call involving an intoxicated man who allegedly threw a bread maker at his girlfriend and kicked a roommate’s cat.
What made matters tense was the reporting witnesses told dispatch and officers that the man had guns in the home and they were concerned he would use them.
The incident began at 10:48 p.m. and ended after midnight when officers were able to get the two roommates out of the home. Deputies essentially defused the situation by not escalating a response, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
“Once we determined there was not an external threat, and the females were out of the home, we made a calculated risk and chose for him to sleep it off,” said Furlong.
