Carson City Rotarians to discuss Dinosaurs of Nevada with Guest Paleontologist
Nevada doesn’t generally come to mind when you think of dinosaurs, however, evidence of their existence has been found.
Josh Bonde, a Paleontologist with the Nevada Science center, along with other colleagues, has been unearthing the history of dinosaurs in the Silver State.
You are invited to learn more about the project at the next Rotary Club of Carson City meeting which takes place Tuesday, August 24 in the Grand Ballroom at the Brewery Arts Center. The meeting starts with lunch at noon and the presentation begins shortly thereafter.
“Over the past couple of decades we have found dinosaur bones in several Nevada Counties’, he said. “We are really excited to soon open a new dinosaur exhibit at the Nevada Science Center in Southern Nevada. We will also unveil and name a newly discovered dinosaur in our state.”
Bonde was born and raised in Nevada and a member of the Te-Moak Band of Western Shoshone. He holds a BS in Biology from the University of Nevada – Reno, an MS in Earth Sciences from Montana State University – Bozeman, and a PhD in Geoscience from the University of Nevada.
