Carson City deputies make drug, domestic battery and warrant arrests
A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday in the area of Russell Way and William Street for felony suspicion of concentrated cannabis oil and other charges, a Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team deputy said.
Jordan Montgomery Osborn was taken into custody at 10:35 p.m. According to the arrest report, a SET deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle with suspended license plates.
During the traffic stop, the driver told officers he did not have his insurance or registration in the vehicle. He was asked if he had any drugs or weapons in the vehicle. The driver said he did not, the report states.
On the passenger side of the vehicle a deputy observed a large knife and 12-inch black hatchet next to the driver’s seat. The driver and passenger were asked to step outside the vehicle for a safety pat down for weapons.
A canine did an exterior sniff around the outside of the vehicle and alerted positive. The driver told deputies that he probably had a year-old marijuana pipe in his vehicle, the report states.
A search was conducted where a deputy located a small container with a small amount of concentrated cannabis oil in the center console of the vehicle, as well as two marijuana pipes and a plastic container with marijuana residue, a vape pen with marijuana residue, six other large knives and a pair of brass knuckles.
The driver was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak. He told deputies he let a friend drive the vehicle and the brass knuckles were probably his. Meanwhile, the passenger told a deputy in a separate interview the brass knuckles were his own, given to him by family as a novelty and that Osborn was covering for him. The brass knuckles were booked into evidence.
Osborn was arrested for suspicion of possession of concentrated cannabis oil and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, no proof of insurance and driving with suspended registration. Bail: $4,486.
