Carson City Sheriff: Car jacking in Reno ends on North Carson Street, children in vehicle safe
UPDATE: The suspect, Jason Day, 48, was arrested for grand theft auto and two counts each of kidnapping and child endangerment. According to KOLO, when Day’s vehicle was stopped he told officers he left the children in the back at the nearby Holiday Inn Express.

A car jacking that happened in Reno Monday in which two young children, ages 8 months and two years, were in the vehicle located on North Carson Street and Medical Parkway, resulted in the arrest of the suspect, according to Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong. The children were unharmed.
The law enforcement situation involving the abduction happened late Monday afternoon where the Reno Police Department and the Carson City Sheriff's Office were able to locate the suspect in the area of North Carson Street and Medical Parkway near a hotel.
According to Sheriff Furlong, the suspect in the abduction situation was located and the children were found safe. The suspect is in custody and has been taken to jail.
Traffic control measures have been established at the intersection of North Carson Street and Medical Parkway.
