Nevada governor names athletic, tourism commission appointments

Gov. Brian Sandoval on Friday announced the appointment of Sandra Douglass Morgan to the Nevada Athletic Commission and also named Brian Krolicki and Bob Cashell to the Nevada Commission on Tourism.
Ms. Morgan will replace Cisco Aguilar for a term that will end in October 2018. Mr. Krolicki and Mr. Cashell, who both have served previously on the Commission in their respective roles as Lieutenant Governors, will serve for terms that will expire in July 2018.
“Sandra Douglass Morgan is an active member of the Southern Nevada community in both her professional life and through multiple service organizations. She has used her talents and experience to advocate for neglected children, victims of domestic violence and served as the vice-president on the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association. She will be a fresh face on the Nevada Athletic Commission and I am proud to announce her appointment,” said Gov. Sandoval.
Sandra Douglass Morgan serves as the Director of External Affairs for AT&T Nevada for Southern Nevada. A native of Las Vegas, she previously served as the city attorney for the City of North Las Vegas. Prior to her public service with the City, she served as litigation attorney for MGM Mirage, the state’s largest employer. Ms. Morgan earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Nevada, Reno and was awarded a Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
“Brian Krolicki and Bob Cashell have both dedicated their lives to making Nevada a better place to live, work and raise a family,” said Governor Brian Sandoval. “They will both serve as excellent ambassadors for our state and I am pleased they were willing to take on a new role in public service.”
Bob Cashell served as mayor of the City of Reno for 12 years and previously served as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of Nevada and a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents.
During his time as Lieutenant Governor, he was instrumental in the creation of the Commission on Tourism. Mr. Cashell is a prominent member of the business and gaming community, having managed several properties and owning Cashell Enterprises, a hotel and casino company.
Brian Krolicki served as the 33rd Lieutenant Governor of Nevada where, among other duties, he served as Chairman of the Commission on Tourism where he led several tourism missions to Asia.
He also served as a member of the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition which was dedicated to bringing the Winter Olympics back to Lake Tahoe. Previously, he served two terms as the Nevada State Treasurer. Mr. Krolicki graduated from Stanford University, in 1983 with a degree in political science. He is a longtime resident of Lake Tahoe.
