Carson City area road report for the week of Aug. 8-14

Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of August 8-14, 2016. Work continues on the downtown corridor improvement project on Carson Street. The following streets will be impacted:

— Carson Street will remain one lane in each direction.
— Telegraph and Proctor from Curry Street to North Plaza Street will be closed all week.
— Musser Street between Carson and North Plaza Street will be closed Monday through Tuesday.
— Musser Street between Carson and Curry will be closed on Wednesday.
— 2nd Street and 4th Street between Carson and Curry will be closed all week.

Days of closures subject to change due to weather issues. Downtown businesses are open during construction. For details regarding traffic impacts, please refer to the material provided in local media outlets or go to carsonproud.com for more information. These sources are updated weekly throughout the duration of the project.

Overnight lane closures will take place on South Carson Street between Fairview Drive and Overland Street Sundays through Fridays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction will always remain open, and business access will remain available.

Lane closures with traffic controls are at the following locations due to utility/road work:

— Silver Sage Drive between Chateau Drive and Koontz Lane, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— E. Long Street between Roop Street and Marian Avenue, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue near Topsy Lane, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

— Arrowhead Drive between Goni Road and the Freeway, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
— Goni Road from Boeing Way to Kelvin Road, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
— Convair Drive from Arrowhead Drive to Conestoga Drive and at intersection of Boeing Way, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
— Airport Road between Highway 50 and Woodside Drive, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Road closures expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Please follow detours:

— Sonoma Street between Silver Sage Drive and Frontage Road, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., commercial access near Frontage Road will be maintained.
— Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only.
— Race Track Road between Bigelow and Schulz Drives, Monday through Friday, for all hours, local traffic only.
— E. Fifth Street loop around the Korean War Memorial, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, parking is available to the south of the park.
— Intersection of Appion Way and California Street, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, residential access only.
— Appion Way between California Street and Center Drive, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, residential access only.
— Eagle Station Lane between S. Carson Street and the eastern entrance to the JC Penny’s parking lot, access points near IHOP and McDonalds are open.
— Heather Circle, Monday, residential access only.
— Curry Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets, Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Northbound U.S. 395 between Clear Creek Avenue and Snyder Avenue will be reduced from three to two lanes until Sept. 30.

U.S. Highway 395 between Topsy Lane and Plymouth Drive will have intermittent lane reductions in each direction due to shoulder and median work, Tuesday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will have intermittent lane and ramp closures that will continue on I-580 and Alternate U.S. 395 in Washoe Valley through fall as roadway paving, striping and other improvements are finalized.
