According to the arrest report deputies ran a vehicle registration through dispatch that came back with a suspended status. The officer spoke with the driver who provided a license but not proof of insurance or registration.

The man spoke with slurred speech, emitted a strong odor of alcohol and kept looking at his middle vehicle console. The officer asked if the man had any weapons in the vehicle. The man replied “just this .25” and picked up a black semi-automatic pistol from the console. The officer ordered him to stop and put up his hands. According to the arrest report, officers were called to an apartment for a noise complaint. When officers arrived the woman turned down the volume and then turned it up again. Her boyfriend, known by law enforcement, began yelling profanities at deputies. The woman followed suit, yelling profanities at officers saying, among other things, “f*** you I know my rights.”

The woman and her boyfriend shut the door in the deputy’s face. A few minutes later, while talking to a person nearby, the woman came out of the house again, yelling at deputies, saying she knows her rights. The officer asked the woman to calm down. She continued without any change in behavior, yelling and screaming about her rights. She was arrested. Before she was cuffed she dropped her beer on the officer and then struggled while the deputy put cuffs on her. She was booked on charges of obstructing and disorderly conduct. At jail she blew a .186 preliminary breath test. Bail: $654.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the location in reference to drug activity coming from the apartment. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team had received an anonymous tip stated two people in the apartment were involved.

Deputies knocked on the door and a woman answered. The officer explained why he was there. The woman stated she lives in the apartment and allowed officers inside. She said she had been arguing with her daughter over the type of people her daughter allows to visit the home.

Inside, officers saw the two suspects come out from a back room. The mother allowed the officers to search the room. Officers discovered a clear plastic baggie with a metal spoon, brown residue, brown cotton swabs, syringes, a digital scale and residue presumed to be heroin. Inside the baggie deputies found a small glass vial of Naloxone HCI, a prescription only medication that is commonly used to counter overdose of opiates such as heroin.
