Where The Wild West Meets Extreme Sports: Capital City Rodeo comes to Carson City Aug. 2-3
The Capital City Rodeo is set to kickoff with a bang on August 2-3, promising a weekend packed with thrilling activities and entertainment. Held at the Fuji Fairgrounds in Carson City, this year’s event will feature an exciting lineup that highlights the rodeo scene, action-packed freestyle motocross, local vendors, incredible tattoo artistry and more.
Come visit the Carson City Library and hang out in a space designed with teens in mind! Monday - Friday 2:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. All teens welcome!
Girls on the Run Camp returns to Carson City
Camp GOTR (Girls on the Run) is coming to Carson City for the second year in a row! Camp GOTR will be a week-long, half-day summer camp from 8 AM- 12 PM at the Carson City Community Center the week of August 5-9.
Girls on the Run Sierras is a character-building program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade operating in the Reno-Tahoe area.

Open Play at Messy Kids Art School
Includes babe area climbing structures for ages 0-2 and gross motor climbing structures for ages 2-8. Dramatic play town, occasional indoor bouncy house and ball pit, open art studio, caregivers internet lounge and coffee bar. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ages 1 and up $10 with siblings half off after first child.
Baby Bookworms Storytime at the Carson City Library
For children ages 0-24 months; join in for weekly stories, songs and structured free play time from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Clear Creek Bowmen will be hosting Tuesday Night Shoots from now until August at the Carson City Archery Range, located just East of Eagle Valley Golf Course.

Blacktop Buffet at the Brewery Arts Center
Family friendly summer fun isn’t just for Saturday nights at Brewery Arts Center. Enjoy 10 weeks of street food and musical acts presented by Yates Law P.C. from 5-8 p.m. every Wednesday night from June 26 - August 28, 2024. Each week a variety of food trucks will circle the BAC Performance Hall parking lot and smaller acts will get a chance to play the big stage.

Grown Up and Guppies at the Carson City Aquatic Center
Head over to the Carson City Aquatics Center every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for Grown ups and Guppies. Making the water fun for your guppy is the most important step in preparing for swim lessons. This class is designed to acquaint adult and child wild play activities and to teach very basic fundamental skills. The course is parent-driven, under the supervision of an instructor. No registration required. Class is limited to 12 adult/child pairs on a first-come first served basis. For ages 6 months to 4 years.
Storytime Wednesdays at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada
Join in for weekly storytime with an accompanying craft each Wednesday. Recommended for children ages 1 - 6. All included with museum admission.
Art Studio Craft Classes at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada
Drop-in art studio every Wednesday and Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. Creative art studio projects are included with museum admission. All ages welcome. Additional crafts are available for cost.
Lego Club at the Carson City Library
For elementary school aged children. Build self-led creations through hands-on learning with Lego education materials. No registration is required. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Bedtime Bears Storytime at the Carson City Library
For kids of all ages: Join us every Wednesday night for stories, songs and crafts designed to help kids wind down at the end of the day. From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Open STEM Lab Thursdays at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada
The STEM Classroom is open every Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. for funny educational, weekly activities. All included with museum admission. All ages welcome.
Fingerboarding Club at the Carson City Library
Enjoy doing tricks and having fun with miniature skateboards. A table will be set up with a skatepark for an hour of fnigerboarding. Fingerboards will be provided but feel free to bring your own. Open to patrons 14 and up. No registration required. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Come teach our furry friend Tofi how to shop for groceries, sort blocks, build railroads, and more. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 11:30am in the Kennedy Children's Corner. Open to kids of all ages. No registration required!
Carson City Library Space Race
Build a rocket and see how far you can fly it! For kids of all ages. No registration required. 4 p.m.

Carson City Friday Family Fun Days at Mills Park
Each Friday, event goers can find either live music or a community movie in the park along with a selection of food trucks. Kids actives include giant Jenga, giant 4-across, giant velcro kick darts, cornhole, bean bag skee ball, chicken fingers, and a selfie spot.
Art Studio Craft Classes at the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada

Carson City Farmers Market returns June 8 with even more vendors at Mills Park
The market returns from June 8 to September 28 between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Mills Park.
Chess Club for all ages at the Carson City Library
Stop by and play chess, or learn to play chess, at the Carson City Library every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. All skill levels are welcome.
Mckeen Motor Car Rides at the Nevada State Railroad Museum
The Nevada State Railroad Museum is offering rides on the historic Virginia & Truckee McKeen Motor Car! Approximately 150 of McKeen Motor Cars were built between 1905-1917 for various United States railroads. McKeen Motor Cars were built with a gas engine and were among the first pieces of railroad equipment to be designed aerodynamically. The Virginia & Truckee McKeen Motor Car is currently the only fully-restored and operable McKeen Motor Car in existence. Rides occur every 40 minutes from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Rides last approximately 25 minutes. Fares are $12 for ages 12 and over; $6 ages 4-11 and museum members; and FREE for ages 3 and under.
CAAST Sierra Tahoe to celebrate year of dance, growth in Carson City with anniversary party
To mark their one-year anniversary, CAAST Sierra Tahoe is inviting the community to a day-long celebration on Saturday, August 3, 2024 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring free classes across their diverse program. From mommy and me to fairytale ballet, tap to contemporary, acro to jazz and more, participants can sample the studio’s offerings and discover the joy of movement firsthand.
Big Brother & The Holding Co. - Levitt Amp Free Summer Concert August 3
Big Brother & The Holding Company are considered, along with the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane, the pioneers of the San Francisco Sound. They are recognized in the history of rock and roll as the band that launched the career of the great Janis Joplin.

Daddy Daughter Hair Night at Shears and Gears
Shears & Gears will be hosting a daddy daughter hair night. Dads with daughters, who get asked to braid and do the ponies DON'T PULL THE VACCUUM OUT! Come hang out with other dads and a stylist. Learn to braid (I'll teach you in man words: braiding is like tying rebar.) Learn all the fun ponies and piggies. Pssst ... yes there's going to be beer! $20 class fee.
