Carson City Sheriff’s Office requests help locating two elderly men

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate two missing elderly persons. These two cases
are not related. Their photographs are attached to this press release.

Barry Stephenson – Carson City Sheriff’s Office Case 2024-4153:

Mr. Stephenson was recently reported missing by friends and was last seen on July 8th, 2024, in
Sparks, Nevada after taking a bus from Carson City. Stephenson is a 76-year-old white male adult with
no reported medical issues.

He is 6’1” and 160 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. His ultimate
destination is unknown after being brought to another bus station in Sparks on July 8th. Foul play is
not suspected in his disappearance.

David Cole – Carson City Sheriff’s Office Case 2021-4299:
Mr. Cole was reported missing recently by his family and has not been seen since 2017. The family
recently received mail from Mr. Cole, postmarked in Humboldt County, Nevada. Mr. Cole suffers from
mental health issues and is transient.

Mr. Cole is believed to be in the central Nevada area. He is
described as a 73-year-old white male adult, 6’0”, 185 pounds, with gray hair, and blue eyes. He is
suspected of being in Nevada, Arizona, or Texas. Foul play is not suspected in his disappearance.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Stephenson or Cole is requested to contact the
Carson City Sheriff’s Office at the information below or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.

On August 19, 2024 the Lyon County Sheriff's Office Investigations Division, Major Crimes Unit identified 27 year old Reno, NV resident Thomas James Wilson as one of the two outstanding suspects in the armed robbery in Stagecoach, NV that occurred on August 17, 2024.
