Hot August Nights is the world’s premier classic car event bringing hundreds of thousands of visitors and car participants to northern Nevada with over $81 million in new non-local monies economically impacting to the Reno-Tahoe area. Now considered an iconic special event in the region, the not-for-profit organization brings a new level of excitement to each year’s event for spectators alike.

“We are bringing a set of new, vibrant and thrilling events to the fingertips of our attendees that will leave them at the edge of their seats,” says Executive Director of Hot August Nights Mike Whan. “By combining tradition, with novelty, we have added to our impressive line-up while staying true to our roots.”

For the first time in Hot August Nights history, the classic car and nostalgia festival will commemorate its roots by hosting the Official Hot August Nights Kick-Off Show-n-Shine in Washoe County’s Rancho San Rafael Regional Park on Sunday, Aug. 5. Classic vehicles are invited to drive on the grass and showcase their wheels, while attendees admire the hundreds of restored and refurbished vehicles—just like it was on the very first day that Hot August Nights began on August 1, 1986. Attendees alike will travel back in time as they take a look at these rolling pieces of relics.
