Nevada Division of Insurance recovers $1.8 million for Nevadans

CARSON CITY, Nev. – The Nevada Division of Insurance is pleased to announce that it recovered $1.8 million for Nevada consumers in the first half of 2011. A recovery is the amount of monetary compensation or relief received by a consumer as a result of a filed consumer complaint.
“I am very proud of the work of our consumer services staff,” said Commissioner Brett Barratt. “If you or your business have a question or complaint about an insurance product, I want to hear about it. Contact the Division and we will do everything we can to help you.”
The Division protects the rights of consumers in Nevada and urges anyone with questions or complaints about the following insurance products to contact them:
— Health insurance
— Life insurance and annuities
— Homeowner’s insurance
— Renter’s insurance
— Auto insurance
— Motorcycle insurance
— Boat insurance
— Credit insurance
— Extended warranties for home appliances, consumer electronics and vehicles
— Surety bonds
— Business insurance
— Title insurance
— Bail bonds
