Carson City arrests: Fight with brother lands man in jail
A 24-year-old man was arrested Thursday for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery after a fight with his brother, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched at 6:28 p.m. to the 2100 block of North Lompa Lane and met with the suspect who was verbally uncooperative and would not listen to orders. He was detained.
He stated he got into an altercation with his brother after he went over to his residence to collect property. He told the deputy he used a trash can to bang on the door and said his brother opened the door, flipped him off and punched him in the face.
Deputies met with the victim who said his brother was trying to get into the house by banging on the door with a trash can. The victim said when he opened the door his brother punched him in the nose with a closed fist and then they got into a fight, where the suspect brother put the victim brother in a headlock, the arrest report states.
The victim said while he was in the headlock, he punched his brother two times in the face with a closed fist. The two were separated by witnesses in the house.
Multiple witnesses stated the same story, the suspect brother was trying to get into the house and then punched the victim brother in the face with a closed fist. Officers determined the 24-year-old brother was the primary physical aggressor. He was arrested at 6:46 p.m. Bail: $3,137.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old Dayton man was arrested Thursday, 8:16 p.m. in the area of Arrowhead and Emerson for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of alternative sentencing. Bail: $3,000.
— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 12:20 p.m. in the area of Lompa and Dori Way for misdemeanor suspicion of criminal contempt and a failure to appear traffic warrant issued out of Douglas County.
According to the arrest report, a deputy conducted a registration check on a Toyota pickup, which came back as suspended on a 2002 Buick. The deputy made contact with the driver and asked for his registration, proof of insurance and driver’s license. The man stated he did not have the documents.
The officer asked the man if his license was suspended. The man replied “yes,” the arrest report states. Dispatch confirmed the man’s license was suspended and that he has two failure to appear warrants. The first from Carson City Justice Court and the second out of East Fork Township. He was taken into custody. Bail: $1,324.
