Veterans Healing Camp in Silver Springs seek donations for garden
Thanks to support from our generous neighbors in Northern Nevada, progress is being made at the Veterans Healing Camp complex in Silver Springs. There is an exciting new life to the property. The three-bedroom group home has been completely cleaned out, repainted and new carpeting has been installed. There is a veteran moving into the home who is ready to help other veterans in need.
The entire outside of the property has been cleaned and truckloads of tumbleweeds have been hauled away. There are several dead trees that still need to be cleared but the two acres of land is ready to develop. This will provide work for local veterans and future income for Veterans Healing Camp.
The camp is located 1775 US Highway 50 in Silver Springs.
“Our first project will be to plant fruit trees and start construction of the garden and irrigation systems,” said Shahla Fadaie, President of Veterans Healing Camp. “We have a wish list of donations to get this project off the ground. We are very thankful to all of our generous neighbors in Silver Springs and everyone who has supported our cause. We are excited about the bright future of Silver Springs and Veterans Healing Camp.”
Veterans Healing Camp is in need of a tree service that will remove the remaining dead trees to make room for new fruit trees. They also need donations of fruit trees, seeds, topsoil, dirt, gardening tools, irrigation systems, one-inch chicken wire, fence posts, tomato cages, garden bench, picnic table, solar lights, and basically anything that is needed for gardening and irrigation. For those larger donors, the wish list also includes a greenhouse, tractor, utility trailer, small pond and chicken coops. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Shahla Fadaie directly at 775-781-2394.
